Private DSP £40,000 per month
This Private DSP has set new records for their business, turning over £40,000 per month from an array of medicines. Check it out.

About This Pharmacy

This case study focusses on a Private DSP with National reach that was a completely new business when they approached us. Lacking any online ecosystem or presence, they sought to establish a strong digital footprint and differentiate themselves in the competitive pharmacy market. Again, this is a case where we were working from scratch. No online presence or digital footprint. So we also needed to create a GPhC DSP-compliant website so they could gain their licence to practice.

The Challenge

The proposed business faced several significant initial challenges:
  1. No Online Presence: As a new business, they had no existing online presence, which was critical for reaching a national audience.
  2. GPhC Compliance: They required a website that was compliant with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) regulations.
  3. Market Differentiation: They aimed to stand out in a crowded market, necessitating a unique and engaging digital presence.

The Solution

To address these challenges, we provided a semi-bespoke version of our Ultimate Pharmacy Website (UPW) solution. Here are the key components of the solution:
  1. UPW Customisation: We customised the UPW to meet their specific needs, ensuring a robust and compliant digital platform.
  2. Unique Design: Crafted a new design around the UPW using Figma, resulting in a beautiful and modern website that effectively differentiated the pharmacy in the market.
  3. GPhC Compliance Adaptation: Shortly after launch, the GPhC introduced new criteria for online prescribing. We swiftly adapted the website to meet these new regulations, ensuring continued compliance.
  4. POM Medicines Optimisation: Uploaded and optimised 60+ Prescription Only Medicines (POMs), enhancing the overall SEO of the website.
A lovely-looking conditions menu. We craft unique and engaging designs, built with user experience
A USP of theirs is prescribing regularly through the "free prescribe" solution where they conduct video calls outside the normal risk assessment route

The Results

The results of implementing the semi-bespoke UPW solution have been impressive:
  1. GPhC Inspection Pass: The business could begin trading with a pass of their GPhC inspection. First hurdle complete ✅
  2. Successful Launch with Minimal Marketing: The site was launched in 2022 with minimal marketing efforts, yet quickly gained traction.
  3. Increased Marketing Investment: The clients reinvested their earnings to bolster their marketing efforts, focusing on SEO, Social and PPC.
  4. Active Content Production: The clients actively produced blog posts and expert pieces, further enhancing their online presence and authority.
  5. Revenue Growth: As of July 2024, that are now producing impressive figures:
    • £46,503 in revenue in the last 30 days
    • £101,031 in revenue in the last 90 days
  6. High Engagement:
    • 64,000 page views per month
    • 12,300 sessions
    • 5,350 clicks in the last 3 months
    • 1.49 million impressions

Return on Spend with Pharmacy Mentor

The clients have spent the following with us:
  • Website Build (Semi-bespoke UPW) = £18,000
  • Hosting & Maintenance = £149 per month
We're unclear of the marketing spend, since this is being taken care of elsewhere. We suspect that they'll be spending at least £1000 per month. The clients have been with us for a couple of years, but we don't have the figures past 12-months old.
  • Online Prescribing revenue in 12-months = £137,558 and growing
Return on Spend with Pharmacy Mentor (ROSPM) = 6.95X or 695% Asset-building: This pharmacy has built a client base of 2,242 patients so far in their database, making it a highly valuable asset to the company. Further savings made with Pharmacy Mentor:
  • Expert pharmacy consultancy fees (usually £250 per hour)
  • Hours and hours saved from explaining how their business works (worth £1000's)

To Conclude

This case study demonstrates how a semi-bespoke version of the Ultimate Pharmacy Website (UPW) can effectively establish a new pharmacy's online presence and drive significant business growth. By creating a unique, compliant, and engaging digital platform, we enabled the Private DSP to differentiate themselves in the market, achieve impressive revenue growth, and build a strong national presence.
